It's raining on Father's Day. A great omen.

My Wife Watches Football

I'm laying in bed, watching FIFA coverage.

I never imagined that I'd be in South Africa with my beautiful wife bringing me coffee and a tray of fruit and biscuits after she turned on the soccer coverage.

Sarah has gotten so into the FIFA World Cup. I'm actually surprised at how she has jumped head-first into the pandemonium.

It didn't really surprise me when the kids got into it. Jarrod came with us on Saturday and is still here. Mason arrived yesterday.

I'm sitting in my bedroom with my angel, eating breakfast, and waiting for the first game to start. Today's matches are Netherlands v. Denmark, Japan v. Cameroon, and Italy v. Paraguay.

Sarah was on Twitter yesterday talking about how we're sort of having a competition. She said on Twitter that she was for Australia so I said that Germany was going to win. Just so you all know, I won that bet.

Now, we are starting our own little world cup. We're going to bet on who's going to win each game and whoever has the most points at the end of the FIFA World Cup wins. We were talking about betting on who's going to ultimately win, but Jarrod made the good point of, "What if none of our picks win?"

So today's choices are:

Netherlands v. Denmark
Sarah and Jarrod is for Denmark
Mason and I are for Netherlands

Japan v. Cameroon
Sarah and Jarrod are for Japan (because neither know where Cameroon is.)
Mason and I are for Cameroon

Italy v. Paraguay
Sarah and Jarrod are for Italy
Mason and I are for Paraguay

Wish Mason and I luck because I can't fathom what will happen to us if Sarah and Jarrod win this competition.

For you NFL fans, "soccer" was called football long before your sport. I'm European and proud to be a fan of the original football.

Beauty and the Angel and Love

Good morning, everyone.

As I sit here on the balcony with my beautiful angel (with the lovely sound of a lawnmower going back and forth underneath us), I decided to post.

Sarah posted about our anniversary yesterday. Link.

All day we were getting the same question: Are you doing anything special for your anniversary?

Like Sarah said, anniversaries and Valentine's Day are just not something we do. It's pretty cliche but every day for us is Valentine's Day and, if you think about it, every day is an anniversary. We really don't need to set a day aside to tell each other how we feel. After this many years, we still tell each other just how much we love each other... probably every time we see each other.

I have so much admiration and love for this woman. To compress all that appreciation into one or two days a year would be a crime.

No. People, if you love your partner, you tell them every chance you get.

How do you know you'll get another chance? How do you know you'll be able to wait until your anniversary or their birthday?

Don't think that the universe won't take her/him from you. The universe doesn't care if you love them. It certainly doesn't care if you've told them or not, but you will. You will regret not telling them that you loved them for the rest of your life. It will slowly destroy you.

So, everybody, stop what you're doing and call whoever it is you love and tell them that you do.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I can talk to you about the Galoria Hunter series. SEB, the "Creator", has finished Nephilim, book 2 of the GH series and has jumped into Beauty and the Angel completely now.

You can find all the links you'll need to purchase your copy of Blood Red Roses, book 1, and Nephilim, book 2, over on SEB's blog. Link.

I've also been very derelict in updating the Quote of the Day and the Weekly Angel Update. I will hopefully be able to get some more free time scrounged up some time soon. Bear with me.
