Cathartic

Today I accompanied Sarah to the eye doctor. She was only there for her annual check-up, but when the doctor finished testing her eyes, he told us that she is far sighted and she'll need glasses.

After about five minutes of looking through a case of eye glasses, Sarah decided which pair she wanted.

Tomorrow my wife will start wearing glasses when she reads, writes, and does any computer work.

It's still very strange to me that I have the privilege of calling her my wife.

19 years ago I was helping her parents get ready for her arrival. I try not to think about the fact that I was there the night my wife was born, but it's true.

I watched her grow from a daydreaming baby girl who told stories when she could barely talk into a beautiful woman who still often daydreams and tells stories. She uses proper English mostly when she tells her stories now, but other than that not much has changed.

This week is going to be very... cathartic.

November 6th will not only be Sarah's 19th birthday, but it will also be our 19th anniversary. Sarah pointed that out to me today after her pupils had been dilated fully and she'd had two Mountain Dews and a rather large cup of coffee.
